It started with a piece of plywood and some spray paint... if someone hadn't put up a sign, this would have been a done deal before we knew what happened.

This area of land is part of the East Pasco Overlay - a plan area residents have fought for to preserve the rural and wild nature of our community. Local officials and developers are attempting to circumvent the plan. This would set precedent and spell disaster.
"Traffic studies" may have nice data - we live here! These flawed studies will put lives in danger and open the door for rampant development.
Lake Iola Road is a popular weekend ride destination for motorcyclists and bicyclists. Adding 550 RVs/Condos, yurts, hotel rooms, RVs, "toys" and tow-along cars will create a nightmare on this two-lane road and endanger lives.
Lake Moody already deals with run off from agricultural endeavors and i-75. This lake is owned by multiple homes and the RV / Condo development intends to make it accessible to travelers with no regard for residents.
Residents already deal with water shortages during the freeze season from large ag properties using the water resources. Many have had to redrill their wells as the water table sinks lower.
This development will tax our water system, be potential danger to the purity of our water (oopsies, we didn't mean to spill 550 x2 people's worth of excrement into your water), and any water treatment system will require water from somewhere. Not to be crude but what are you going to do with all that shit?!
Sanjay Amin of V-Care Consultants is the developer. He bought this property knowing it was in the rural overlay and we suspect with assurances he could do whatever he pleased from the prior owner. In our opinion, Mr. Amin destroys communities with his developments.
"I'm sorry this is going to be so painful for you." No, Mr. Amin, that's what a predator says. The truth is this is going to be very financially painful for you! This community does not want your development and we are ready to fight you.
This park will begin a cascade of precedents for Commissioners already granting each other waivers to lay waste to agricultural land that should be kept ag. all for profits with no respect for the community or ecology of the land.
This land was previously owned by the Oakley and Maggard families.
We recommend that Commissioner Oakley recuse himself from voting on this land because even though he will not currently profit from its development, his family already has. You have to wonder WHY Commissioner Oakley is so hot for this project when the people he "represents" clearly are not.
